The Agave Grille & Cantina's award winning taste of the Southwest will continue to spice up the Ambler area and its every growing restaurant scene. Agave Grille & Cantina, 110 East Butler Pike, which opened in late October 2005 will continue with its new owners, Joseph and Diana Collura and David Wachs, who took over ownership in June 2007. With its authentic southwest-inspired dishes for lunch, dinner, and late night dining it has brought dining delight and culture to the area. Under the auspicious direction of Executive Chef Roberto Cabrera, who is originally from Mexico and relocated to the US, Agave will continue to bring to you delicious upscale Tex-Mex cuisine. The menu will feature a seasonal blend of Southwestern cuisine with a mix of traditional American fare.
"We want to continue to appeal to all palates," Joseph explains. "The menu is Southwestern with a twist," he added. "From quesadillas made with goat cheese, mango and crab with a pistachio créma, to mouth watering St. Louis Ribs served with fresh homemade cole slaw and grilled asparagus to pan roasted crab cakes with jicama, red slaw, amazing vegetable fries and a San Antonio remoulade to a blackened Ahi tuna served with sautéed spinach and a sweet potato tamale with a hazelnut butter, there is something for everyone. The menu will also feature a wide selection for the kids, a unique dessert menu. The chef is also happy to accommodate any dietary needs and to modify dishes for those that like them less spicy or for those that prefer them hot, hot, hot!
Joseph, Diana and David want Agave Grille & Cantina to be a welcoming place where diners can enjoy lunch and return for dinner that same evening. Agave also has Sunday brunch and live music Thursday through Saturday, as well as, at special events.
"We want to be that neighborhood place that you go to when you are looking for a great lunch, a lively happy hour with daily drink specials, a place to go for dinner before and after the theaters in the area or a fabulous place for live music in the evenings,"
Agave Grille & Cantina is planning a monthly calendar of special events, everything from Girl's Night Out, to Thirsty Thursday Tequila Tastings, special sporting event celebrations, family friendly events, and an array of live musical acts.
Agave Grille & Cantina will continue to be determined to integrate itself into the community by participating in events with the Ambler Main Street and by hosting fundraisers for various organizations.
One of our first events was the Dog Parade featuring, The Agave Girls, Lady Eureka and Roxi Heart.
Extensive renovations have taken place to the downstairs area to make it into a sports bar/game room. The interior of Agave Grille & Cantina transports visitors away from Ambler to a locale in the Southwest. Warm hues of terracotta and dusty rose mix with the bright reds, yellows, blues and purples reminiscent of the Southwest greet guests of the Agave. A large mural greets diners when entering the space and a pergola denotes the bar area that features fresh sangria, flights of tequila, margaritas made with fresh fruit juices and more! The Agave is non-smoking until 10:00 pm and offers a spectacular dining room available for private parties.
